Support Ocean & Shark Conservation

The uniqueness of our tour is that you are hosted by one of South Africa’s leading ocean conservation organization, AfriOceans Conservation Alliance, and our qualified tour guides who are also qualified environmental educators. In depth knowledge of the fauna and flora of the Cape Peninsula will be shared with you throughout the tour thus adding to your experience.

The incredible Table Mountain National Park on the Cape Peninsula in Cape Town is home to a mind-boggling array of unique animals and plants, found nowhere else in the world, living side by side with a rich cultural tapestry of communities bordering the park. This guided Shark Warrior adventure immerses you in a range of distinct ecosystems as you travel, meeting our wildlife and the special people who make up the colourful cultures of the area. You will not only witness Nature’s beauty and learn more about the ecology, conservation issues and challenges along the way, but you will find out about the people who thrive and/or survive along this beautiful coastline.

What an Awesome Adventure!

After being collected from your hotel or accommodation establishment by your Shark Warrior guide, we travel to Muizenberg over Boyes Drive where you learn about White Sharks while stopping at a picturesque lookout. From here we travel down to Kalk Bay to meet the fishermen at the historic fishing harbour. Next is a stop at the AfriOceans Conservation Alliance public office at Seaforth where you are presented with an educational overview of the Cape Peninsula’s fauna and flora followed by a guided tour of our endangered African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

From here we travel along the stunningly beautiful scenic drive to visit the iconic Cape Point, stopping off to learn more about our Cape Floral kingdom and the unique animals that are found here. After reaching the summit at Cape Point either by walking or via the cable car to witness the meeting place of the two ocean currents, we do an optional hike across to Cape of Good Hope and the rocky coastline along the cold Atlantic. After sightseeing we break for lunch and/or refreshments (at your cost) at the Cape Point Restaurant with its stunning views of False Bay.

Joining your air-conditioned vehicle, we travel to Scarborough village to learn about the West coast rocky shores and take in the fresh Cape air. We travel to the community of Ocean View or Masiphumelele where you get to visit a local community and for a first hand insight into the unique cultures of the Cape. From here we travel over the world famous Chapman’s Peak Drive, through Hout Bay, past the Twelve Apostles, Clifton & Camps Bay, a route considered one of the most picturesque in the world.

From here we journey to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, which is acclaimed as one of the great botanic gardens of the world. Few gardens can match the sheer grandeur of the setting of Kirstenbosch, against the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. Enjoy the splendour and beauty as you walk through the gardens and venture for a walk over the Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway, a curved steel and timber bridge, that winds and dips over trees, giving spectacular panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains, Garden and Cape Flats. The Adventure is over and time to head back to your accommodation.
